Pia Hunter, Visiting Copyright and Reserve Services Librarian and Visiting Assistant Professor, has resigned her position effective August 15, 2015. She will be attending law school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign beginning in fall semester.

All members of the Library community are invited to take part in these opportunities to increase staff knowledge of operational functions of library departments. Through introductory training sessions on specific tools/processes and overall orientations, the goal is to improve the number and diversity of staff who can assume different library functions.
More details to come as plans are finalized, and there will be options for remote participation.
All Library staff and student employees are invited to join the Library Community Building Committee for Game Night and Potluck on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, from 5 p.m. – 7.p.m, in the LHS-C staff lounge (room B23).
A selection of games will be provided, but feel free to bring your favorite card or board game. This event is a potluck, so everyone is encouraged to bring a treat to share.
Steve Whitley, Visiting Lecturer and Visiting Coordinator for Intergroup Dialogues, and the CC 120 staff are located in Daley Library offices 2-130 and 2-131 as of June 16, 2015.
CC 120 is a seminar for first-year students in which they explore social identity, privilege, discrimination, and communication across difference, while learning about the diverse UIC campus. The Library is now the home college for this course.

In honor of Bike Commuter Challenge week, Library employees will be taking a biking tour of the Pilsen and Chinatown neighborhoods on Friday, June 19, 2015. The group will meet outside the west doors of the Daley Library at 7 p.m.
Contact Brenna Murphy (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you’d like to join the tour. Don’t have a bike? No worries! You can rent one from the Divvy station outside of the library.

Cynthia Reynolds has been appointed Visiting Regional Assistant Librarian and
Visiting Instructor at the Library of the Health Sciences-Rockford effective June 16, 2015. Reynolds was previously an academic librarian at Rasmussen College in Rockford.
