Portico announces agreement with the National Library of the Netherlands

Portico and the Koninklijke Bibliotheek, the National Library of the Netherlands (the KB), are pleased to announce they have reached an agreement for an off-line copy of the Portico archive, which exceeds 6 million articles and 60 million files, to be held for safekeeping by the KB. Through its e-Depot program, the KB has demonstrated its role in the vanguard of digital preservation. Continue reading

Zhao publishes book

Lisa Zhao, assistant catalog librarian, has published a children’s book, “A Boy’s Artwork”. The book is based on Lisa’s son’s art works during his early childhood. The book was formally launched on Feb. 20, 2008.

Library Relevance in the Digital Age: Feb. 29th, Govenors State University

The South Metropolitan Higher Education Consortium is pleased to announce their February event “Library Relevance in the Digital Age.”

Lisa Hinchliffe, the head of the Undergraduate Library at the
University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, will present pointers on keeping your library front and center in the age of technology. Also featured will be a discussion on Academic/Public library partnerships.
